Dan Brauer came to DPS with plenty of enthusiasm about cars and limited experience with Search Engine Marketing. This ongoing story called “Welcome to the Jungle” will be a journal about his experience going from a normal man to a hardcore digital marketing pro. Welcome to the jungle, indeed. – Ed.

Joining the team at DPS has been nothing short of fantastic. From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew that I would be able to make an easy and efficient transition into an area of work with aspects relatively new to me. I sat down a few months back and told myself that I needed to find a career that allows me to work with cars in some capacity. Well, I’ve found it.

After five years with a well-respected market research company, I realized that  I needed something slightly more challenging. It was, however, an excellent experience to be able to work with, and learn from, clients who frequented the office to conduct research. They offered me a variety of professional skills I knew would benefit me in future endeavors. Patience, understanding, motivation, customer service, and analytic thinking have all allowed me join the team in a way that has made me beneficial for all my team members.

My first two weeks have flown by and I have gained a wealth of knowledge in this short amount of time. Learning Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing concurrently is both challenging and exciting at the same time. Understanding the importance of creativity, paid and organic search, streamlined landing pages, social media content and web page design has been pivotal in ensuring my future successes here and beyond. Furthermore, the intensity and thoroughness directed at these initiatives by the Team highlights the high standards and desire to provide our clients with the best possible product, service, and customer service available.

One area of the department I particularly enjoy being involved in is the automotive blogging for SEO for some of our clients. Producing quality writing assists us in capturing search engine visibility and in maintaining in good quality scores and relevancy. As an avid car enthusiast, nothing gets me going more than talking and writing about cars. It just doesn’t get much better than working to create solid results while doing something you love!

Dan Brauer is a Search Marketing Associate at Dealer Product Services. Dan transitioned from the world of market research to automotive marketing in the beginning of 2014. Currently building his knowledge in the areas of PPC, SEM and Social Media, Dan is working diligently to immerse himself in all areas of digital marketing. His vast knowledge of cars assists him on a daily basis with his roles at DPS. Dan is a hardcore Nissan enthusiast, from the legendary Skyline/GT-R to the V8 Altima Supercars and everything in between. In his free time, you can find Dan supporting local performance shop Boostin Performance (home of the fastest 2nd gen AWD Eagle Talon in the world) at area drag strips, listening to hip-hop and R&B, playing basketball, reading import tuner magazines, traveling and enjoying time with friends.
